Chelsea 2 Arsenal 0

Chelsea remain top of the table and extend their lead after a two special goals send the Gunners back home with no points.
Drogba’s back heal and Alex’s stunning free kick saw the champions get back to their winning ways on the back of a loss against Manchester City last week, as Chelsea took their chances and Arsenal didn’t.
Arsenal, who travel to Stamford Bridge with an injury-riddled squad, initiated the pace of the game as they found themselves with a corner in the first minute, only for Konchesky to head it over the bar.
Arsenal continued to press and looked the dominant side in most of the first half.
However against the run of play Cole ran the ball up the left wing whisking a low fast ball into the 6 yard box where Didier Drogba back-heeled it past Fabianski’s near post as it ricochet off the post and into the back of the net in the 39th minute.
Despite being a goal behind, Arsenal headed into the tunnel for half time looking the stronger side.
Back out for the second half, Chelsea managed the pace. Failing to capitalise on their chances, Anelka slotted it wide of the post after beating the keeper from a bad pass back by Konchesky.
Ashley Cole was to be an unlikely candidate for the score sheet had he not been ruled offside in a controversial decision by the linesman in the 70th minute.
Still keen to contest, Arsenal boss, Wenger made a 70th minute substitute with Tomas Rosicky coming on for Diaby
Continuously sloppy play by Arsenal allowed Chelsea to have the chances, as they ran it into the Gunners’ box testing Fasbianski from all angles.
Fabianksi, often criticised, grew into the game as he made save after save from waves of attacks from Chelsea, with his defence struggling to match the world class forwards.
Chelsea look forward to a home fixture against Aston Villa next week where they will look to continue on top of the league.
Arsenal go back to the Emirates where they face Birmingham next weekend, looking to pick themselves up and get back to winning ways.
